He always starts his sermon with something kinda funny, and then he would ask everyone in the audience to hold up their bible and pray a bold prayer ‘this is my bible, i am what it says i am, i have what it says i have, i can do what it says i can do, i boldly confess, my mind is alert, my heart is receptive, i will never be the same, in Jesus name God bless you. And then he would announce what he’s going to talk about that week. Because he’s a televangelist, he appears in national tv and also international. When he quotes bible verses, it would appear on the screen so it’s convenient for anyone to jot them down. Sometimes an ad would appear too like an ad for real estate wilmington nc.
I watched a topic where he talked about God is going to bring you further, faster. Every words, every real life stories, every bible verses he quoted supported fully the topic he’s bringing to people. Tonight he talked about how our life seems to have never ending same problems with no possible way out. And our mind is so stuck with these same problems that we couldn’t think of anyway to get out of it for e.g. debt. But Joel is encouraging people to believe that God is bigger than our problems. He is bigger than RM250,000 debt. That God’s throne is made of real gold, that He is a gold creator, an abundance creator. We should not be afraid of our problems and the people who caused us troubles but we should look how big God is that we can’t even compare Him with anything or anyone ever exist under the sun. Truly, Joel Osteen is a God-ordained person, a person selected by God to tell the world that He loves abundance and He wants His people to have abundance, to live in the over flow. He’s telling us that He can help us if we call on Him.
Looks like i’m going to visit youtube regularly now. Well we need to know that all the money and breaks that we got on earth comes from God. Yes we may be the ones who worked for it, but i believe they are pre-arranged by the supernatural hand of God. Just like the farmer who farms during the day, he prepares the soil, he plants the seed, he waters the seed everyday, he cut out any weeds, he fertilizers the soil and seeds, basically he did all the works. But it’s not him who makes the seed grows. The seed grows because God said it will grow. Provided all the works are done.
But this remind me of the story of Jonah in the bible who in Chapter 4, made a shelter for himself in the middle of the hot sun, then in verse 6, it says God provided Jonah with a leafy plant and made it grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head to ease his discomfort and Jonah was very happy with the plant. But then at verse 7, it says the next day God provided a worm, which chewed the plant and it died. There was no farming work involved, but God makes that plant grows. And He has the power to make it died too. If He is the one who gives, should we be so proud as to say ‘God did not give me money, i worked for it’?
Let us Think.
