So, here I am listening and watching to their greatest hits songs in youtube while Benny (man, you are lucky eh) is having a good time at the Magellan Grand Ballroom, Sutera Harbour for the live performance…*sigh*

Luke is here for the semester break. So, we thought of having a re-union get together at our second home non other than Cempaka Square last night. Unfortunately, some of the limadanglians cannot make it for some good reasons. Instead of having it at the KTV as planned earlier, we decided to hang around at the lounge since only 7 of us who managed to come to the gathering (8 actually plus my other half…hehehe).

Nevertheless, we did enjoyed ourselves that nite with only a bottle of Black Label (drinking liquor in moderation nowadays…). As for the karaoke session, we still hadn’t had enough of singing as we have to wait almost 1 hour for our turn…*sigh*…(the downside of  ‘lepaking’ at the lounge ). However, we managed to sing a few songs as listed :

Last nite dinner was ‘extra special’ because of the balung and lato.  It’s been ages since I had any of these. To some, these two dishes is rather new or perhaps the name is unfamiliar to you. Read through my post to know more and the pictures will definitely help to decribe balung and lato better 
 

Balung is actually a jellyfish… Now you know. The pic above shows the balung were stuffed with rice In order to maintain the freshness.

How to prepare the dish? Cut the balung into small slices then mix it with musk lime juice (limau kasturi), chili and a bit of salt…yup, it’s that SIMPLE!

Lato is some kind of seaweed. The name lato if I’m not mistaken came from the Philipine’s word. It looks a bit like grape and therefore, it is call seagrapes (Green caviar) in English. The lato is eaten fresh. Just wash well the lato seaweed, drain, and it is ready to be eaten. If you want to add more flavour to it, you might as well mix it with lime juice, chili, ginger or onion. But remember not to mix them in advance for the seaweed will become watery. My way of eating lato is with my favourite ‘sambal belacan‘.

The dishes served that night…woweee…we also had ‘lemiding’ (kampung vegetable), Fish cooked with tomatoes and “ham choy” (preserved salted vegetables), Chicken with ‘foochuk’ (beancurd) and Pork in a dark sauce…aiyaaa…I’m so bad with the food name…need to ask help from STP on this!

Sorry all, I’ve been away from my computer and my internet life for a while… Need to rearrange my lifestyle due to the price hike (oil, rice…etc)…hehehe…just kidding!

Today marked my 5 years with the company I’ve been working since after my graduation day. And not to mention, my first job too! Goshhhh…amazing how the time flies. I didn’t realize I’ve been loyal with this company eversince while some of my colleagues have moved out to find a better job with a better pay.

I started as a Mechandising Clerk with a salary not even close to RM700 a month. Without any hesitation, I took the offer since I know that I have no workking experience at that time eventhough I’m a Degree holder. Starting as zero in the retail industry, I work very hard to understand almost everything about what the Retail Business is all about especially the Merchandising Department (Supermarket, Hardline & Softline ). I was confirmed as a Merchandise Assistant after 5 months and as a Buyer for Gent’s Department a year later. Basically, my job is to meet up with suppliers to discuss and to look into their new products besides daily monitoring of the sales and inventory for our 17 outlets throughout Sabah. 

In 2007, I was promoted to Executive level for the Softline Department up till today. Shhhh…but I’m looking for another job. Five years is enough for me. I need to move out and learn something new or else I’ll stuck in one place forever…lol…I need a new environment (not saying that my working environment now is not good…it is far than good with all the nice colleagues and bosses around…less stress) …new challenges … better salary pay …hehehe!

Well, HAPPY 5 YEARS ANNIVERSARY to ME, MYSELF and I … and would like to wish my colleague Andrey @ DD a.k.a my Jipss a Happy Birthday!
